HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Ash miah started SABR in aid of his mother who suffers from arthritis of the knee as well as leg and shoulder pains.
Due to mobility issues getting out and about was not an option for her so joining a gym or going to exercise classes was not going to work out. His mum also has anxiety issues and prefers to simply just stay home.
It was then Ash decided to bring in Sara Adam’s to deliver online sessions for Muslim women like his mum who will benefit by doing exercises at home with people they can relate to.
There were other female members of Ash’s family who decided to take part to 1 support mum and 2 because they too didn’t have the time to join the gym due to work commitments and children.
The first class was attended by Ash’s mum, wife, daughters, sisters, niece and sister-in-law. It was a right family affair but they found it very positive and have since reported significant change in their abilities. From not being able to raise their arms without pain to hanging up curtain unassisted to feeling less stressed as it is a good wind down from a busy day.
The family look forward to the weekly sessions and it has made such a difference to health and well-being.
The classes have now been opened up to all mothers and sisters so they too may benefit from the exercises.
